Tässä asiakirjassa määritellään vaatimukset lämmittämättömissä painesäiliöissä käytettäville terästuotteille. Joillekin muille metallisille materiaaleille kuin teräkselle, kuten pallografiittivaluraudalle, alumiinille, nikkelille, kuparille ja titaanille, vaatimukset esitetään tai tullaan esittämään tämän asiakirjan muissa osissa. Metallisille materiaaleille, jotka eivät sisälly ja joita ei todennäköisesti lähitulevaisuudessa tulla sisällyttämään yhdenmukaistettuihin materiaalistandardeihin, esitetään omat sääntönsä tässä osassa tai edellä mainituissa tämän asiakirjan osissa.
