1.1 Soveltamisala 1.1.1 Eurokoodin 6 soveltamisala (1)P Eurokoodi 6:a sovelletaan raudoittamattomien, raudoitettujen, esijännitettyjen ja vahvistettujen muurattujen rakenteiden suunnittelussa talonrakennuksessa sekä maa- ja vesirakentamisessa. (2)P Eurokoodi 6 käsittelee ainoastaan rakenteiden kuormituskestävyys-, käyttökelpoisuus- ja säilyvyysvaatimuksia. Muita, esim. lämmön- tai ääneneristystä koskevia vaatimuksia, ei käsitellä. (3)P Työnsuoritusta käsitellään siinä laajuudessa kuin on välttämätöntä sen osoittamiseksi, että käytettävien rakennusmateriaalien ja -tuotteiden laatu ja työnsuorituksen taso vastaavat suunnittelussa käytettyjä otaksumia. (4)P Eurokoodi 6 ei sisällä maanjäristyssuunnittelua koskevia erityisvaatimuksia. Tällaiset vaatimukset esitetään Eurokoodissa 8, joka täydentää ja joka on yhdenmukainen Eurokoodin 6 kanssa. (5)P Eurokoodissa 6 ei esitetä mitoituksessa huomioon otettavia rakennuksiin sekä maa- ja vesirakennuskohteisiin kohdistuvien kuormien lukuarvoja. Ne esitetään Eurokoodissa 1.
