Tämä eurooppalainen standardi esittää vaatimukset muuraussiteille, kiinnitysvanteille, palkkikannakkeille ja konsoleille, joita käytetään yhdistämään muurattuja rakenteita sekä yhdistämään muurattuja rakenteita muihin rakenne- ja rakennusosiin, mukaan lukien seinät, lattiat, palkit ja pilarit. Kun ankkurit tai kiinnikkeet toimitetaan tai spesifioidaan osana täydentävää tuotetta, tällöin tämän standardin vaatimukset koskevat koko tuotekokonaisuutta. Tämä standardi ei käsittele seuraavia asioita: a) erillisinä toimitettavia ankkureita ja kiinnikkeitä, jotka eivät ole osana täydentävää tuotetta b) muurausta kannattavia jatkuvia kulmateräksiä c) kiinnityskiskoja, joilla poikittain muurattavan seinän pää sidotaan olemassa olevaan seinään d) tuotteita, jotka ovat muuta materiaalia kuin HUOM. Tämän standardin mukaisten tuotteiden palonkestävyyttä voidaan arvioida vain osana muurattua rakennetta. Palonkestävyystarkastelut eivät kuulu tämän eurooppalaisen standardin soveltamisalaan.
